How to download & update to iOS 6.1.4 & iOS 6.1.3
Apple has released iOS 6.1.4 for iPhone 5 and 6.1.3 for iPhone 3GS and later, iPod touch (4th generation) and later, iPad 2 and later. Apple always recommends users update iOS for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to get the latest features and security fixes. iOS devices allow you to update its firmware wirelessly from its Settings > General > Software Update options. Using iTunes 11 you can also upgrade to the latest iOS version, backup and restore the software, which puts iPhone or iPod touch back to fresh condition.
You can download and install iOS 6.1 to you iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad using the Standalone iOS 6.1 IPSW file to avoid any iTunes download hassle. It is not suitable to download a large file like iOS 6.1 IPSW (1.04GB) using iTunes. 2. Connect your iPhone (iOS devise) to your computer.
3. When iTunes opens, select your iPhone under Devices in the Source List on the left.
4. OPTION-click (on Macs) or SHIFT-click (on Windows) on the Update button in iTunes.
5. Now you will be able to tell iTunes to use the IPSW file you downloaded to update your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad.
Note: GSM phone has a removable SIM card and CMDA phone has a built in SIM. AT&T is an example of GSM and Version is an example of CDMA.
