Free Virtual Piano Synthesizer
A73 Piano Station is a virtual piano and audio synthesizer software that transforms your computer keyboard into a fun to play virtual piano that allows you to play over 128 instruments, including clarinet to electric guitar, from harp to synth sounds. A73 Piano Station generates and modifies sounds electronically and can imitate a variety of other musical instruments. Play your favorite music or enjoy your own creations for a truly different type of relaxation and entertainment and record them.
A73 Piano Station enables you to select up to three instruments for simultaneous play to create new, unheard sound effects. Use parallel arpeggio effects to enrich your playing. Switch on the drum machine, add bass and chord accompaniment to your melody with just a few clicks. Accompaniment styles range from jazz to dream dance, from waltz to blues. A73 Piano Station is based on tree panels - Master, Lead and Base.
Master Panel -
The Master Panel contains fundamental controls, like volume faders for mixing your song, the recorder controls and also the octave shift function. Adjusts the main output volume of the synthesizer or Mutes the synthesizer.Adjusts the volume of the lead sound. The lead sound is any combination of the A, B, C tones. Separate volumes for the A, B, C tones can be changed on the settings page of the main display. Adjusts the volume of the accompaniment bass and chords. All of the accompaniment, excluding the drums, is affected by this slider. Adjusts the volume of the drum machine (i.e. the drum part of the accompaniment).
- Record
Click this button to start, then click again to stop recording. Click the Play button to hear your recording. If satisfied, save your work by selecting Save As... from the Record menu.
Middle Panel -
The middle panel contains the settings for the lead sound. The lead sound can be a single instrument, or any combination of three tones, referred to as A, B, C tones. Click on these A, B, C tabs to select the actual tone you want to modify. By default tones B and C are disabled.
- Instrument Category
Click on these buttons to select an instrument category. Example: Click Pi for the Piano category, click Ch for the Chromatic percussion category, or click Or for the Organ category. There are 16 instrument categories each containing 8 different instruments. That gives a total of 16 x 8 = 128 available instruments. You can also access the instruments via a menu by clicking on the orange display. - Instrument Slot
Click on these buttons to select an instrument within the actual instrument category. You can also access the instruments via a menu by clicking on the orange display. - Arp
Activates arpeggio mode for the actual tone (A, B, or C). If arpeggio is on, when you hold down a piano key, a rhythmic pattern is played automatically that is synchronized to the rhythm of the actual accompaniment (if any).
Base Panel -
You can choose to play with an automatic accompaniment in several music styles. The BASE panel contains the controls for this feature. Choose a style by clicking the Style button or use the < and > buttons to move to the next or previous style.
- The Rhythm switch
Activates drums. - The Bass switch
Activates bass and chords. - Key Start
If Key Start is enabled next to the Rhythm switch, the rhythm will start when a piano key is hit. The same applies to the Bass switch. You can limit this function to the piano keys in the bass region. - Tempo
Adjusts the tempo (i.e. bpm=beats per minute) of the actual style. - Shuffle
Controls the shuffle (i.e. swing) of the actual style. In the bottom position of the slider there is no shuffle effect, the top position corresponds to full shuffle.
