Windows Classic Start Menu for Windows 8
Although Microsoft implements the Start Menu function in a different visual prospective, Windows 8 still contains a “Start Menu” folder for each individual user. Spencer is small application that can help you bring back the Classic Windows Start Menu to your Windows 8 PC. It creates a menu with all your Windows 8 Start Menu items and present a menu list which is visually similar to the classic Windows start menu.
With one click you can have access to all of your Start Menu entries and then execute the shortcuts to programs contained within your Windows 8 Start Menu folder. It shows each subfolder as a group that shows all of its program shortcuts in its extended menu, when mouse hovers on it. You will get direct access to the Control Panel, Administrator command line and Run dialog. Additionally, the Shutdown item enables you to quickly power off your PC, without going to the Windows 8 start screen. Spencer menu doesn’t interfere with the Windows 8 Start Screen and its Button.
Spencer menu is entirely portable and does not require any installation, just download the Spencer’s ZIP file, extract the Application, make a right click and select ‘Pin to Taskbar’. You simply need to pin it somewhere to the taskbar. You can also set a shortcut key in the icon properties, so you can open the Start Menu with a keypress.
