Chasys Draw IES : Photoshop Alternative Free Image Editor
Chasys Draw IES is a free Photoshop alternative image editing and digital drawing application that offers powerful image manipulation and versatile graphic processing features. Image editing has come a long way, with new ideas coming up and even rendering irrelevant traditional methods that are considered industry standards. Unfortunately, most image editors still stick to tradition. Chasys Draw IES Artist has over time grown into a powerful image editor that takes a radically different approach to image editing, resulting in distinctive character, speed and output quality.
Chasys Draw IES application suite includes layer-based image editor with animation, icon editing support and super-resolution via image stacking (Chasys Draw IES Artist), a multi-threaded image file converter (Chasys Draw IES Converter) and a fast image viewer (Chasys Draw IES Viewer). You can paint life-like images, work with transparency, use custom brushes, add textures, apply all manner of channel manipulation and use external plug-ins. The whole suite is Vista UAC aware and is designed to take advantage of multi-core processors.
Chasys Draw IES Artist is the main image editor and paint program in the IES suite. It's also the parent application from with the rest of the suite evolved. Chasys Draw IES Artist was initially designed for painting images that look real enough to easily pass for photos.
The tools have been designed in such a way that you can combine them to create almost any effect you can possibly think of - from painting the sky, clouds and smoke to shadows, lighting, perspective and lighting gradient. For simple painting, you have the pencil, straight line, brush, calligraphic pen, filling paint and spray gun. For more complex painting, you can use the custom and effects brushes, solvents, cloning and roughen tool. For gradient effects, you have the gradient fills and tints, and for those who want a little geometry, there are rectangles, ellipses and many other shapes. There is a lens tool for viewing you work up close, color picker for selecting colors and of course, selector tools for picking up irregular and rectangular portions of the image for moving, editing and saving.
Digital Photos Editing
Chasys Draw IES has extensive photo correction capability. With Chasys Draw IES Artist, you can edit your digital photos, allowing you to remove ( or "heal" ) the blemishes characteristic of imagery captured using digital cameras and scanners ( and even natural ones like pimples ) without losing the harmony and flow of the original. You can add visual effects and image enhancement to your pictures, view and edit a wide variety of images files, add plug-in support for file types that aren't natively supported, and do a whole lot of other things with images. You can also copy and transfer parts of images, creating interesting effects
Layers
Chasys Draw IES uses the concept of a free-style layer. A free-style layer is one that can be positioned anywhere, including totally removing it from the image and keeping it aside. Chasys Draw IES Artist provides free-style layering as a way to enable people to work with images the same way they would if the images were photos placed on their desk - you may stack what you need together, while placing pieces that you are not currently using outside the stack but within reach.
Image modes
The rendering (drawing) of layers in Chasys Draw IES Artist is dictated by a parameter called the image mode. The default image mode, composite, renders the layers as a stack for the purpose of compositing. Two sub-modes are provided, a normal sub-mode that emphasizes free-style layering and a clipped sub-mode that clips the output like other image editing software.
In the multi-resolution image mode, similar copies of the image are made at different resolutions. The destination device then has a choice of images to choose from, depending on the intended display resolution. This mode is primarily used for creating icons and cursors.
Animation Image Mode
The animation image mode is used for short videos, known as animations. In this mode, only one layer is displayed at a time, one after the other, after a duration of time dictated by the frame delay layer attribute. It is analogous to the way an artist can draw a slightly different figure on each page of a pad of paper so that when you flip between sheets rapidly, the drawing appears to move. This mode includes a sub-mode for onion-skin animation.
Layer attachments (metadata)
Chasys Draw IES can add descriptive information, such as the name and style of font used, path data, etc. to a layer. This information is called metadata, and is saved along with the layer. If the layer were to be opened for editing later, this information will be restored to facilitate easier editing.
