The newly released Windows 10 Technical Preview has just got an update – Build 9860 (from Build 9841). The update is bringing “Action Center” from Windows Phone over to the desktop PC and includes other significant improvements. The new Action Center is a notification area on Windows 10 where you can see and follow up on all actionable items. You’ll see notifications from the Windows system and third party apps – from new emails and invites to IMs, Facebook posts and more – all in one place.
On touch enabled device Windows 10 now automatically brings up the keyboard if you touch any of its textbox area. Windows 10 modern apps has new gesture functions, when your apps are in full screen mode you can swipe down from the top bezels (on desktop take the mouse on top of the screen edge) to get the apps titlebar that has the close, minimize, search, share and other options. A swipe up from bottom bezel will give you access to the taskbar, which allows you to switch between modern apps and desktop apps.
File explorer now offers a share option for selected files that allows you to bring up the share panel on right hand side. Currently the option is only limited to sharing file via email attachment. It will be really handy if the File Explorer sharing feature open ups for third party apps for seamless online file sharing.
If you have already installed the Windows 10 Technical Preview, the latest build will come to you automatically via Windows Update (size about 2GB to 2.74GB). To get the latest build, you can go to PC Settings, Update and recovery, Preview builds and click the Check Now button to go get it now.
